St. George Church, popularly known as 'Puthuppally Pally' or 'Puthupally Valiyapally' is a prestigious church that is renowned as the 'Georgian Pilgrim Centre of the East'. Situated on the eastern bank of the Kodoorar Rivulet, this place of worship welcomes thousands of visitors every year. Initially established as 'Kochu Pally' (Little Chapel) in 1557, it was rebuilt in the name of St. George in AD 1750.

The church is noted for its architectural beauty. The artistically carved granite cross in front of the church has 84 slots in its base representing the 12 Apostles and 72 messengers. The pristine white exterior is complemented by two bell towers, one old and another new. The unique bronze cross with its turtle base is believed to be as old as the church itself. The wall paintings and adornments inside the church captivate you with their intricate beauty. The church also has a 'Ponkurisu' (Golden Cross), which is only taken out for the procession during the annual festival known as 'Puthupally Perunnal' or 'Feast of St. George'.

The panoramic surroundings add to the serene ambience of this holy place. The blooming water lilies turn the paddy fields near the church into a bright pink carpet. An evening spent in these peaceful surroundings will ease your worries and heal your soul.
